Mexico and USA partnering together
The participants of our annual VBS week missions trip were eight persons from Oasis Salt Lake
14 from Vineyard of Fremont County (Canon City, CO) and six young people from La vina Los Encinos, which allowed us to serve 8 locations. Included a presentation of a drama performed by the youth from Canon City. The team also ministered at the womens prison outside of Nogales. Number of kids reached was 256 plus adults. New locations included Mascarenas, the large mining city of Cananea, which is over the mountain pass beyond Cuitaca. Mascarenas was interesting in that we just showed up, sent Pastor Rafa, Arturo, and some of the kids out with flyers, started to set up on La Cancha, and then the rain came. This forced us to a house adjacent to La Concha where the lady told Rafa that the only Protestant church in town has been closed for years, and she invited Rafa to return to plant a church. Anyone who knows Rafa knows that he doesn't need his arm twisted to do that, so he plans to do services there every Wednesday. In Cananea Rafa had a contact person which is our intention to go there also and plant a church also. Overall, we were very encouraged with the new locations. The last evening the team held the second annual hot dog roast, performing the drama and some dance at La Cancha in San Lazaro. Next year we will integrate into our plans the Los Encinos Vineyard even more. Pastor Juan Ponce (father of Abi and Ashly), seems to be fully engaged in partnering with us. Many thanks go out to all of you that have participated in this years' trip, including many who didn't come but supported it in other ways. We pray, God's Kingdom in the state of Sonora, MX well as be a substantial work of God! Blessing to all involved, Rich Metzger A ten day trip, participants included 10 persons from Utah and a guest (Nicole) from Roseburg, Oregon. Since we were such a small group this year we pretty much stuck to the basics. That being VBS outreaches in 6 locations, most of the time, twice. We were joined there by two teenagers, neither of whom speak English, for the entire week.
